We spend more and more time choosing the accessories that allow us to take care of the decoration of our garden. A decoration in the smallest details of your garden can pass by the use of white pebbles. These are accessories that dress up your outdoor space in a modern way; they are very popular in landscaped gardens. The goal is to feel good and enjoy it from spring to fall as if it were a living room in itself. Whether it's a driveway or a gravel garden, there are several options for incorporating a little mineral into the garden. It is the perfect element for a zen, modern, exotic, and original atmosphere. What are the advantages? Which plants lend themselves most easily to this type of design? So, without further ado, let's dive into this blog and learn some of our best tips for choosing gravels for your garden. 1. Why create a gravel garden?  This type of garden is ideal for those who cannot or do not want to spend a lot of time maintaining a garden. Gravel brings light to the garden and slows down weeds' growth, a godsend for those who hate this chore! It represents a saving in terms of time and water, as a watering can be spaced out. Another advantage is that gravel drains the soil perfectly and keeps the heat in the soil, which helps preserve plants that are sensitive to large temperature changes. 2. How to determine the ideal location?  A modern house entrance, a driveway, a small garden space where you don't want to put a lawn... In itself, the possibilities are limited only by your desires! However, there are some places that are better suited to a gravel arrangement. This is the case for places exposed to the sun - or even to drought - or for land with a sandy nature. You can also create a gravel path to structure your garden space. 3. Which gravel to choose? The factor that seems most important in this case is aesthetics: do you want white gravel? Or fine gravel? Or pebbles? A mixture of both? As for white gravel, it is better to keep it for small surfaces: with the reflections of the sun, it can hurt the eyes. It is possible to play with colors and materials to create patterns. Most of the time, it is best to choose cream colors for an elegant and timeless look. 4. Where to find it?  Don't forget to choose gravel as close to your home as possible; this will reduce your carbon footprint and respect the nature of your soil by choosing gravel that comes from a nearby environment. Quarries near your home are a great place to buy them! If you can't choose this option, garden centers and DIY stores also sell it in bags, preferably if you want gravel in reasonable quantities. 5. Which plants will do well there?  It may seem counterintuitive, but many plants will thrive in a gravel garden - or driveway! Examples include lavender, sage, ornamental garlic, but also grasses, and bulbous plants. Dasylirion, agapanthus, and hollyhock will also do well, as well fescues. Pittosporum is a good choice on the shrub side, as is juniper. Looking for help? Are you looking for garden supplies and tools? Do you live in Melbourne?
