Even with a more than decent configuration, there are many glitches that slow things down with the vertical synchronization and oversampling enabled.
It’s a pity that the editor didn’t go to more trouble on this PC adaptation that is sloppy to say the least, as is too often the case with the Namco Bandai console adaptations.
There are many epic battles, and the quality of the production and the cut-scenes is undeniable. However, those looking for a good fighting game may be frustrated by the omnipresence of these cut-scenes that easily account for half the game time. On the flip side of this, I think the story is presented so well that even someone who does not know a great deal about the world of Naruto is going to be able to get invested in what is going down here which is cool.
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 features a stacked roster of characters that you can play as. I think there are around 80 characters that you can take direct control of as well as assist characters that will help you out. It is very impressive how they were able to include pretty much the whole cast of characters here. The presentation of the game is percent a step up from the second. It captures the look of the show very well.
I will admit that the gameplay is not exactly super deep, but what is here is a lot of fun. You take part in mainly one on one battles, but they also throw in massive battles, boss battles, and QTEs as well. There is a solid variety of things here. The fighting is very easy to learn and you can pull off all of these flashy moves pretty easily and you feel like a badass as you go. I can see why some might say it is a button masher, but I am not sure I would go that far.
It is a game that pretty much anyone can jump into and have fun. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 has a fantastic campaign to play through.
